Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

chase bank reported in the credit bureau a pelinquent account 30,60,90+ for a credit line on my name. I never had a credit line account with that bank. I have a credit card account that has always been paid in full on time. Never had a delinquent account with them

the report is false. What can I do?

I contacted the bank when it was WAMU. Out of the blue I started receiving collection letters and phone calls. After talking with the branch manager and several letters stablishing the non existence of such account, they stopped billing me. However, they never sent a letter explaining why the error.

Now that I am applying for credit to buy a house, I found a derogatory report from Chase for a credit line account. I never had such an account with them

You need to formally dispute the item through the credit bureaus - you can go onto their websites online and pull a free credit report from each, and then follow their dispute process. You are probably getting hung up in the merger between Chase and Wamu. I have seen many times where old Wamu accounts are becoming issues as they work into Chase Bank's systems. Good luck.
