Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Co-applicant on car loan

I became a co-owner of a loan for a vehicle several months ago. The other party has not been making the payments as we agreed, but has possession of the vehicle. The lien, the title and the registration are all in both of our names. What recourse do I have if the other party continues to refuse to make payments on the loan.

Re: Co-applicant on car loan

You may take possession of the car. You have a legal right to possession. Depending on how title is held, you may be able to sell the car.
