Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Collecting on a Small Claims Judgement-attaching to lawsuit

I currently have a Small Claims Judgement against an individual who has a Workman's Compensation lawsuit pending. May I attach my Judgement to his Workman's Compensation lawsuite, thereby, being paid once and/or if there is a Workman's Compensation settlement? If so, how and do I require an attorney to do this?

Thanks for your posting. Unfortunately (for you), under California law, certain items cannot be seized to satisfy a judgment, such as workers' compensation, unemployment, pension, social security, welfare, or insurance payments. They are all protected and can't be taken to satisfy a judgment.

You may want to speak with a lawyer anyway, to see if there is something else you can seize to satisfy your judgment. Collections are often the hardest part of a case. If you have other questions, please feel free to email me directly.
