Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Collection Agency Issue

I rented an apartment last year for three months. I left after two weeks. I lost my deposit of course but now they are coming after me for all three months rent. Once I discovered they rented it out for 6 of the 10 weeks they were charging me for, they revised their amount due. The problem I have is that none of their math adds up. I've received three final payment due letters from them and none of them make any sense. When I do the math, I owe about $60, when they do the math, I owe anywhere between $400 and $900. I've proved all the proof the collection agency and said I was more than happy to pay the correct balance owed. Instead, they have reported me to the credit bureaus for the full amount due. What can I do to get them to remove it and correct what I owe? I still have all the written documentation.
