Collection of Divorce Judment

How do I collect a judgment of 2003 for $27,000 plus 9% annum from ex-husband that was granted to me in divorce. This person is in prison for sexual abuse of daughters. This happened in Orgon and we live secretly in California

There are many methods to collect a judgment such as wage garnishments and bank account levies. The key to enforcing any judgment is knowing where the judgment debtor has assets that can be seized and/or sold.

An Oregon judgment is only good in Oregon. If the debtor has assets in California, then you must register the judgment in California.

Laws on enforcing judgments vary by state, so perhaps you might want to consult an private invetigator first to locate the debtor's assets. Once you are armed with this information, your attorney can give you further advice on how to proceed.
