Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I have been paying $15.00 every two weeks since march 4th of 2005 to unilab,to date I have paid $105.00 and owe $110.00.
I called Unilab well over two months ago to make sure that this arrangement was satisfactory with them,they never called me back and they have cashed every check I have sent.
So figured this must be all right with them.
On June 7 2005 I got a Collection notice from Gess & Associates letting me know I was turned over to them.
I faxed a letter to Unilab and Gess & Associated telling them the same thing Im telling you, along with my payment history from wells fargo bill pay.
I also told Unilab I will pay the full amount of $ 110.00 on 6/24/2005.
At this time Im able to pay $110.00 but was'nt able to pay $215.00 back in march.
I wasn't trying to get of paying my bill.

You can either pay Unilab or the collection agency, either way the situation should be taken care of.
