Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

What is considered "adequate" verification of a debt?

I have been working on cleaning up my credit report. In the process, had some of the collections I've challenged have been "verified" by the collections agencies to the credit reporting agencies. I don't think I owe them any money. So what are these credit reporting agencies accepting as "verification" of the debt? How can I challenge their verification information? Also, my Visa card, which I have paid relgiously for the past 4 years shows late 3 times. One of those late payments was as recent as a year ago. I never paid late. How can I make them prove I was late?

Re: What is considered

The credit reporting agencies verified that they were

accurately reporting the information being provided by

your creditors. Now you have to go to each creditor

and convince them that they are incorrect and that they

should change what they report to the reporting agencies.
