Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Court hold on drivers licenses

When a court suspends your drivers licence due to faliure to appear on a infraction traffic ticket . you don't get a warrent that you my clear up. Your failure to appear goes to a collection department right away. And the failure to appear holds your licence until you pay off the ticket in full. Now what I don't understant is I thought when a collection agenciy took over a owed debt that meant they bought the debt from the other company.S the debt nolonger belongs to the other company .So how can the court sell the debt to a collection agenicy. And yet the court can still hold your licence untill the debt is payed off in full. But you no longer owe the court you owe a collection agency now so how can the hold remain on your drivers licence.

Re: Court hold on drivers licenses

They don't alsways sell the loan. They merely act as a collection agency representing the principle, in this case the court.

Pay the fine.
