Can a credit card company charge you 10,000 in fees and lawyers fees six years later when they want to sue you. Is this legal?

If it's really been six years, no, the legal time limit for suing you (four years) has expired and you could have the right to sue them for unfair debt collection practices. Consult an attorney.

The statute of limitation in California is 4 years. If more than 4 years have gone by since your last payment, they cannot file a suit against you Also, the $10,000 for added fees seems excessive.
