Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

If a credit card company sells my debt to a CA, can the CA sue me? How likely is it they will sue me? How likely is it that a credit card company that has not sold the debt sue me?

It's anybody's guess how likely they are to sue you. If a CA does sue you, you may have possible defenses including that they don't have proof of the original debt, and sometimes they sue after the legal time limit has expired.

I have encountered many aggressive banks who will sue for debts over $2,500. It just depends on what their philosophy might be, how old the debt is, whether the debtor has a job, bank account, other credit card debt, etc.
