Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

credit card insurance

I was served with a summons 11/14/04 for old credit card debt. I have statements showing the last payment was made 7/14/04 by the credit insurance due to a disability. Lawsuit was filed 7/20/04. Last payment made by me is 3/15/99. Is SOL over?? Also they reaged the debt on credit reports. I have never recieved anything in writing form this 3rd party debt collector only tons of very scarey phone calls at work, home ect. What can I do?
