Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Credit card judgement

How do I find out about a judgement against me? I moved and did not receive a final disposition on this matter.

Re: Credit card judgement

Many courts have online resources. You either plug in your name or case number. If that doesn't work, you might find it on your credit report. Or call the court's register clerk, who probably could look it up for you.

Sometimes, it will show up on your credit report, sometimes not. It sounds like you are aware that an action was filed, but just ignored it. If so, then there probably is a judgment entered against you. You can try the court's web site, which sometimes is helpful and sometimes not, or you can just go to the court and give the clerk your case number and she will pull the file for you. If there is a judgment, it will be in the file.
