Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Credit card reporting

I filed bankruptcy 2 years ago. Four credit cards that were written off in the bankruptcy are still on my credit report. Is that legal for credit card companies to do that? How can I get bankrupty charged off items off my credit report.

Re: Credit card reporting

You can't get it off. They are entitled to keep it on your record for 7 years from the last date of activity. The bankruptcy will stay on your credit report for 10 years. A bankruptcy only terminates their ability to collect, not their right to show you as delinquent.
