What happens if you can't pay your credit card debts. Can they take your home, car or anything else.

They can sue you to get a judgment, then attach your assets (car, home, paycheck).

I suppose that is what they can do, if you do nothing to stop them. There are many ways to prevent creditors, even judgment creditors from accomplishing every nightmare you have described.
