My answering machine doesn't say my name only my phone# and the guy says this message is for--name removed-- if this isn't--name removed--s phone please Hang up he waits a little while and then leaves confidential info in my voicemail... is this legal?

Re: credit & collections
Name Removed could theoretically sue the collection agency for violations of FDCPA (Google). But I am not aware of any case law that says this particular telephone messaging practice (where the debt is announced on the answering machine after imploring anybody who is not Name Removed to hang up) is either legal or illegal.
