Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Credit Contract

We are currently involved in an installment credit contract, and we have been having second thoughts. Yesterday we received mail with a new contract to sign since there was a mistake on the original one. If we refuse to sign the amended contract, will the other party have legal recourse against us? We live in Calif. and they did not inform us of the three day cancellation clause, in fact they led us to believe we could not cancel under any circumstances. Also, they have been given access to our bank account to make the payments automatically. In fact they told us that was the only way we could be approved, can they still take our money?
