Possible credit lawsuit?

Hi,

My friend's family is going through some credit problems right now. Her mother is $15,000 in debt to a credit card that both her and my friend used. However, my friend is not on the list as a co-owner of the card. She recently ran away from home, due to other family problems and she is afraid that now that she is not there to pay the debt, she may get sued by her parents. Is this possible? If so, what can she do? Should she be worried and what are the possible consequences? Thank you.

Her parents could sue her for the charges, depending on her age. If she is worried, she should call her parents, talk to them and seek counseling.
