Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

What happens to your credit after marriage

My boyfriend has a credit rating of 800, I on the other hand score under 600. He is very concern that if we get married his creidt will get attached to mine and he will never be able to get his high score back. What can we do (besides not get married) to protect his good credit.

His credit should not be affected by yours unless you take out some loans together or put each others' names on your credit cards. To be on the safe side, you could do a pre-nuptual agreement to the effect that your assets and liabilities will remain separate and you could keep separate bank accounts.

It seems like a pretty lame reason. You might want to consider this fact.
