creditor harrassment

Can a creditor come to my house

and demand payment on a loan that was 30 days late?

Unless it's a relative or friend, I've never heard of that. It sounds extreme.

Is this a creditor like a bank or lending institution? Or is it a friend? They can come to your house and demand payment, but it would be extremely unusual. If it is a friend (or a relative), they can do it as well. No one can harrass you in collecting a debt, however.

They sure can. Nothing in the law prohibits it. You could put up a no trespassing sign. But good luck getting the police to enforce it.
