Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
If my creditor received a money judgement against me can they make me sell my car in order to pay for it? What should I do? I know I owe the money and just right now I don't have it.

Without knowing the circumstances of how they got the judgment how much it was and how much your car is worth and whether you have any other assets its hard to give you a specific answer. So generally speaking possibly subject to your statutory exemption. However as a practical matter, it also depends on who your creditor is, how motivated they are and how much your car is worth. If its a large bank or debt collection agency probably not unless its a Rolls Royce. If it is a private individual and your car is worth a lot more than the statutory exemption maybe yes. Practical advice is call and try to talk to them and arrange a payment plan.
Hope that helps and good luck to you
