Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Creditor Violations

I owe a creditor $$ for goods. I was making payments - but not as regular as he liked. We got into a dispute when I discovered that this creditr was telling other businesses and people of the debt. One person he informed He also threatneed on several occassions to make it public to people that I knew - and to come and confiscate the property. There was no such clause in the sales agreement.

NOw - he says he intends to sue me for the balance.

Do I have any recourse against this creditor???

Re: Creditor Violations

Not if he is just suing you for the unpaid and due balance on the agreement. If he has defamed you, however, it may be that you have a cross complaint against him for defamation.
