Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Debt help attorney?

I will be tackling my soon-to-be ex--name removed--25k in consumer debt in the immediate future. My plan is simple, pay as much as I have to on each debt to get the trade line deleted or turned into a ''Paid as agreed''. I know this will be a bit of a negotiation and I have seen on other forums some good results using the following formula:

1) Validate (CAs only)

2) File FCRA and/or FDCPA lawsuits to soften them up (there always seems to be a few violations)

3) Settle out of court to include positive credit reporting or deletion of the trade line all together

In the readers opinions, is this the best approach? I was thinking of hiring an attorney to do all the letters just to make sure it is done correctly. Please advise.

Re: Debt help attorney?

if the debt at issue is "unsecured" you have a very good opportunity to be able to negotiate a settlement up to 50% or less of the $25K owed. you sound like you have done your homework for the most part on debt negotiations as a viable option for your situation here. we commend you, however, you may still want to strongly consider attorney assistance in this matter so everything is done properly and legally. creditors often can be quite "deceiving" when it comes to actual settlements in practice rather than in theory. if you would like further assistance from a law firm specializing in such debt negotiations for clients like yourself daily, feel free to contact us directly.
