debt collection

i am getting harassing phone calls from legal processing associates in austin tx threating me with a 10 yr prison sentence if i dont make good on a payday loan i got and couldnt pay back due to a financial disaster can they arrest me because i obtained a form of credit and didnt fraudulently provide any false information what are my rights??

No. They cannot arrest you. You should send them a letter telling them not to contact you. You can see a sample at my website, www.californiadebtblog.com.

Their actions may violate state and federal law and you may have a case against them. Document everything!

You may have a claim against the collection agency under the Fair Debt Collection Act. Do you have any letters from that company? Please call me if you have any other questions.
