What are the different Statutes of limitations on debt collection in the state of California?

In general, written contract, 4 years; oral contract, 2 years, dated from when the last payment became past due; the time can be reset in some cases by making a payment or a promise to pay.

Statutes of limitation are complicated; and a lawyer should be consulted in any situation involving serious money or the possibility you are being sued beyond the legal time limit.
