Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
Debt
My Grandmother passed away in 2003. She had no estate to speak of, and her life insurance barely covered the cost of burial. It is now 2009. As members of her immediate family we are not required to keep paying her outstanding debts are we? Credit Card debts for example?

Re: Debt
Unless there's a lawsuit against the estate that was timely filed, all credit card debts should be uncollectable because of the running of the statute of limitations. Family members are not required to pay the credit card bills.
