Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Debtor Harrassment

My husband and I have been paying on an overdue debt that went to collections. We pay every two to three weeks. However, the agency keeps calling us at all hours, demanding we set up a ''payment plan''. When they've been told that we have, in fact, been paying, they say it isn't enough money and, until we pay it or make a ''large enough'' payment, they'll call us as often as they wish, whenever they wish. We just checked our bank account and, as usual, they have cashed the check. What can I do to stop this? We truly are paying this obligation and don't understand why they feel they have to be so rude and obnoxious. Thank you for your time.

Re: Debtor Harrassment

depending on the overall circumstances, you may be able to get an attorney to send them a cease and desist letter or face a tortious lawsuit citing invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, etc...if you would like further assistance, feel free to email me the overall facts of your case.
