Deceased wife credit debt

My wife had 7 credit cards 2 had payment protection plan. I was authorized to use some of them and some she was solely credited. What am i liable for? Can my credit be affected?

You are probably responsible for all of them unless you had done some pretty sophisticated estate planning before her death. However, the creditor would have to open a probate action in order to get to your assets; which probably will not happen unless the debt is quite large. You are also personally responsible for any cards or purchases you signed for. If you do not pay the credit cards or purchases you signed for it can show on your credit report without the filing of an action in court.
