Default Judgment for Arbitration Award

I went to a hearing for a credit card that went to collections, went through arbitration and was now trying to get a judgment entered to award arbitration. Because my husband is in the service, I requested an extention and the judge granted a continuance, rescheduled motion and i was told i would be notified of the hearing date. I also did not receive any paperwork from the attorney for the collection agency to go back to court. Now they have a default judgment against me. Can they do that? I didn't go to the hearing because i never received anything from either the court of the attorney.

I am unable to follow your timeline. Here's what I understand: 1) You went to arbitration which went in your favor; 2) You tried to have a judgment entered in your favor in court but your husband's absence delayed that; 3) the creditor instead took your default. That makes no sense. Please explain.
