Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
Demand payment after they certified I was clear!
Hi,
A California university I attended certified that I had no outstanding debts and consequently
let me graduate. Two years later, they say I have a debt from the library and they want to collect.
I've received repeated demands/threats from them. I'm done with them as far as I'm concerned. What can I do to get them off my back, save paying what they demand.
Thanks.

Re: Demand payment
it does not matter that they certified that you had no outstanding debts. the real issue is do you really owe the money and has the statute of limitations (4 years) run.
