Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

DMV Title
My car was reposessed by my bank...after sending it to the auction house, they called me because it seems I have the title. They had sent it to me ''in error'' and when I got it I didn't think about the fact that I shouldn't have it. It is in MY NAME ONLY. It does not list the bank in any way on the pink slip. SO...the auction house says they can't sell the car without my signature. My question is... since the pink slip is in my name only, can I get my car back? The auction house said they will not release it to me because they have a contract with the bank... but they can't sell it. Can I get it back. Can the bank ''force'' me to sign it over if they sue me?

I tried very hard to work with the bank and they were unreasonable in the repossession. I would like to get the car back so that I can sell it for much higher than an auction price and pay off the debt.
