Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

If my domestic partner owes money from a past delinquent account, can I get stuck with having to pay it? His debt is from former wife who filed bankruptcy and now credit card co. is coming after him. Thank you

If you have a joint bank account, the creditor could levy against it after obtaining a judgment. Otherwise, it's his debt. If he is sued, he might have a statute of limitation defense, however.
