Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I was "duped" by one of these sportsbetting guys into spending about 5K for his service during the baseball season. After a couple of months, the guy stopped calling and has nt taken my calls. I feel like I should have some recourse, but not sure what to do. Can you help?

What is a "sportbetting guy"? You didn't say what "service" he offers. Is that like a racetrack tout, somebody who supposedly knows which team is going to win the ball game? What exactly did you expect this guy to do for you that he didn't do?
