Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Edd overpayment

I received a letter from EDD that says I was overpayed and need to repay them. They say I worked for a company and did not report my income. I'm confused, I went to the social security and received a letter that shows I didn't work for this company. I sent the letter and a few days later they sent me another notice from EDD that says I have to pay money I'm not sure I owe. Could somebody else be using my social security number, or my personal information, if so is there something I can do?

Re: Edd overpayment

Get a free copy of your credit report to determine whether your social security number is being used to incur debt, at least. Sounds like you should talk to a supervisor at EDD and figure out why they're hassling you.
