Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Enforcing Garnishment

Hello,

I am filing a 5K small claims action against a former friend/co-worker. She works for an airline that is transferring everyone to one of eight other national offices-assuming I prevail on the suit, would the wage garnishment order have to be served at her actual new work location or would serving headquarters(where payroll is processed)suffice?- I don't know her new location, I hope the latter works. Thanks.

Re: Enforcing Garnishment

Once you obtain a judgment against the co-worker, you will be able to serve her employer at any location the employer maintians in California. Be aware, however, that you will need to contact the Sheriff or Marshal in the county in which that office is located to have the wage garnishment served.
