enforcing an oral contract

i lent money to a friend to pay bail in the amount of $18,000. after partial payment to me, my friend refuses to pay the rest. how can i enforce this oral contract? please advise. thanks

You have two years from the date of the breac of a verbal agreement to file a lawsuit to collect on the amount owed. Other than sending demand letters or phone calls requesting payment, you cannot really "force" someone to you without going to court and getting a judgment. You have two years from the date of a breach of an oral contract to sue the other party. For proof, you will need cancelled checks or other proof of your payment. Please call me if you have any other questions.
