Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
executive bankruptcy haunts corporation
One of the executives of our sub chapter s corporation, filed for personal bankrupcy 14 years ago. A jewelry trade credit reporting house continues to list this personal bankrupcy on the corporation credit report. We have asked them to remove this mark as it is no longer public information and is not relative to the corporation's history. They have refused. What can we do to resolve this?

Re: executive bankruptcy haunts corporation
You must continue to badger them to stop the erroneous reporting. If you can show actual damage, you may be able to entertain the idea of suing for defammation, however it will be a lot less expensive for you if you can convince the reporting agency to stop as defammation suits can prove to be expensive to prosecute. A letter from your attorney may be helpful in resolving the matter informally.
