Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Ex-Inlaws and old debts

10 years ago, while still married to my ex, we borrowed money from her parents. This money was not repaid and was listed in our divorse agreement as my debt (wrongly!). I missed this. My ex-inlaws are now trying to collect, after NO converstaion on this matter for 10 years. Our divorse was fina1 09/97 and was filed 12/96. Is there a statute of limitations?

Re: Ex-Inlaws and old debts

The statute of limitations on a written contract is 4 years and 2 years on on oral contract. Sounds as if they are well beyond that based on the information provided.
