Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Can I file a lein on unpaid child support against other parents home?

I have due to me over 45,000.00 in unpaid child support. Being collected by Placer County Ca. The father has done everything under the sun to avoid payment. He has never spent one day in jail for the non payment. My children have grown and are raising families of their own. Year after year this drags on. He will pay for awhile then go back to skipping or avoiding payments. Placer County ABSOLUTELY refuses to jail him in any form of contempt charges. He is gainfully emloyed, ownes his home. This has been the situation for over 25 years. Can I lien his house? Linda

Sure you can file a lien. You'll get paid when the home is sold or transferred or when he dies. I've done this many times for clients. Let me know if I can help.
