Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Finance company woes

I bought a piece of land and the financing was done through a finance company. When the payment book came, it was for the wrong parcel. I contacted the finance co and was told to ignore the 1st payment and begin paying when I received the new payment book. I followed those instructions and am now being told I am one payment behind with charges added monthly. I have never missed a payment or been late. I have talked with the finance co, faxed and emailed them, and I get no reply other than harrassing calls and letters. I have spoken with ''supervisors'' who tell me to send in documentation of my complaint. After doing that (several times) I don't even get the satisfaction of a response. I have written to the president of the company and still no reply. How can I resolve this problem? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
