Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Financial Responsibility

Daughter covered under my employer's dental insurance(20 yrs./full-time student dependent and living at home). As parent, signed financial responsibility for work performed for her. Forced to go bankrupt and included this debt in the bankruptcy. Now collection agency after my daughter (now 21) for payment in full even though she never signed any contract with dentist. Threatening her with derrogatory credit standing if not paid in full within a week. Is she legally responsible even though she never signed anything but I did as her legal parent and insurance primary for family?

Re: Financial Responsibility

I'm not sure whether your daughter is legally liable

for the dentist's bills or not. It might depend on

the language of the "financial responsibility" document

you signed. If there's enough money at stake,

your daughter should consult with an attorney.
