Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

What can I do to find out the address or other contact information for the general manager/partner of a registered LLC [in California]. When I looked up the LLC on the state's web site the only address listed for their agent for service is the business address where they used to have their office [but have recently left that location]. Is the information as to their forwarding address that the office management company has privileged [why]?

Thank you.

Corporations and LLCs are required to file a form called a Statement of Information every 2 years. The form is supposed to provide the Secretary of State with updated information about names and addresses of managers. The form is public record, but you need pay a fee to get a copy: http://www.sos.ca.gov/business/be/information-requests.htm.

If the information is outdated, you may need to hire a private investigator or use online resources to track down the people you are trying to contact. For legal notices, serve the designated agent for service of process even if the address of record for the LLC is outdated.
