Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
My friend borrowed money from me and has not paid me back. I have been trying for a year now to get it back. I've called & sent email's. But they still haven't paid me back. Is it possible for me to sue them? I have documents confirming the amount of money owed.

Yes. If the amount is under $7500, it would be a small claims case. Otherwise it would be filed in a regular civil case.
Well, how much?
