Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Friend Opened Up a Credit Card in my name

I used to have a roommate whih whom I lived with for about a month. After I moved out, since mail continues to arrive at that address, I guess one of those credit card offers came in and before that she needed to borrow money so I lent her some money. And then I receive a letter stating that I have a credit card. She put over 2000 dollars on it, and I was wondering if this situation can have any legal action taken upon it. For the money I lent her and the identity theft she did. Any legal action I put against her? Thanks so much

If you didn't authorize the use of the credit card, contact your local police and make a police report for identity theft. Make sure you send a copy of the police report to the credit card companies and credit bureaus along with a letter saying you dispute the debt.
