Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
I was garnished by a collections agency who garnished 50% of my net pay which impacted my ability to pay necessities such as buying food, utilities and insurances (car, home rental). I cannot describe the stress involved. I am thinking that I have a law suit against this company who has a terrible reputation according to the internet (Untied Recovery Systems of Texas). Do I have a possible suit against them? Thank you very much for your assistance in this matter.

Probably not if you owe the debt. However, you may file an application with the court to reduce the amount it's taking from your pay, based on hardship, or you might speak with an attorney about filing for bankruptcy protection.
How did they garnish your wages? Did they file a lawsuit against you and you blew it off, or did you never receive the lawsuit?
