There are many methods to collect a judgment. You might try having a receiver/keeper for collection on a doctor.
Re: Garnishment- Judgment
Read the book, Collect Your Judgment (Nolo Press).
You can tap his bank accounts, his till, you can have the sheriff open his mail and collect any checks (payable to the individual - if he runs his practice under a corporation this will be more difficult).
You can drag him into court every so often and make him give sworn testimony about the location of his assets, you can send him written interrogatories to answer, heck, you can even have the sheriff physically shake him down for the money in his pockets if you do it correctly.
Finally, if he owns real estate, you can record an Abstract of Judgment with the county recorder. This will create a lien on any real property that he owns within the county (you can do this in more than one county). The judgment earns 10% interest, so if you know your guy owns real estate, recording the Abstract gives you a foolproof investment earning 10%! Someday when he sells, you will get a call from some title company asking where you want your check sent.
