Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Garnishments

My husband purchased a brand new car about ten years ago, before he and i were married. He had it for about 1 yr then it was repossesed by the bank with the understanding that he didn't have to make any more payments this repossesion satisfied the contract. Ten years later a collection agency bought the supposedly cancel contract. Can the collection agency garnish his or my wages for this debt. I have ask for the bill of sale to see what the car resold for.

Re: Garnishments

The statute of limitations on such a debt is four years. Just tell the collection agency that they are out of luck and hang up on them.
