Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I have an OLD Girl Friend who is suing me?

She is saying that she one a Judgment on me. I was never notified I am not hiding the DMV knows where I live. I also have a Clear Criminal Background and is required for my employment. She is threating me and says I owe $6000 when I was working in the Bayarea she wrote some checks for me. I gave her the Cash. Now she says that I owe her the amount. She was in my Bed and stayed the night. She also gave me some Pain Killers that would knock me out and it did help with my sleep. While she used me. It is a Fatal Attraction from the Net.

Some how she has filed this and I don't owe her. She has nothing else to do so I am sure she had this planned and also has done this to others. Is there a Statue of Limitations on a Small Claims Court Decision???

Depending on when the judgment occurred, you can move to set aside the default and judgment since you knew nothing about it. If you're adventurous, you could take a look at Code of Civil Procedure section 473.5. You might find an attorney either at a legal clinic or even a law school in Sacramento who could help you do this.

Judgments in California are good for 10 years, and can be renewed. However, if you have no proof of judgment against you, there may not be one. If there is, you should move the court to have it set aside for insufficient service of process. Your best option is to retain legal assistance asap to find out what exactly is going on and remedy the situation for you properly. Our Law Firm can affordably help you here.
