Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I know now the value of having good credit and I have been working on my credit for a little bit. My credit score is 551. I am Paying off my debt. Out of 9 accounts, all are paid off except 1 collection account that just showed up. Can a lawyer help me get the accounts to remove the payment history, revise all the unsatisfactory and collection accounts to state paid as agreed plus remove all charge off notations. I have been working on this for a 6 months and my credit has not moved at all and I need it resolved quickly. Would hiring a lawyer be a good bet?

You have now discovered one of the advantage that bankruptcy has over debt settlement. Creditors are allowed to report accurate information and the time to negotiate how the debts were to be reported was before you paid them off. If you had filed for bankruptcy and gotten a discharge, the debts would have been discharged instead of you continuing to struggle with this issue. There is no quick way to resolve this.
