When can a hospital send you to collections?

If I make payments every month to a hospital for services rendered (no insurance), can they still send me to collections?

If they have made a specific agreement with you to accept the payments, no, they cannot send you to collection. When I say no, its like saying no no one can punch you in the face. They can, but they are not permitted to do so. You could bring an action against them for doing so.
