Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
Hotel Charges
We Booked three days at a California Hotel. We were quoted $95.00 per night. When we arrived we could tell that the establishment was not where we wanted to be. I asked if we could cancel our reservations and was told that we would have to stay for one night since the manger was not there. I gave then my credit card number. That night we were bitten by bed bugs. The next day we spoke to the manager. He said that we would have to pay for two nights. We said that we would be gald to pay for the one night that we stayed but did not think that we should have to pay for two nights. He than responded that he would in fact be charging us for three nights, and he did.
Our credit card will not take our side in this dispute. They said that the hotel must issue us a credit. I do not want to pay this bill After all we are being charges for services that were never rendered.
Please advise me as how I should proceed. By the way I never signed or was toold about any cencellation policy.

Re: Hotel Charges
Aside from disputing the charge with your credit card issuer, I would post reviews of the place to travelocity.com and biddingfortravel.com. If you are really paying $95 for hotel rooms, you should spend some time familiaizing yourself with biddingfortravel.com and priceline.com . Except in downtown SF you ought to be able to get any nice hotel statewide (or worldwide) for $45-50.
